I love Vanessa’s writing and this did not disappoint. It even had a small element of danger to keep me flipping the pages. This was a sexy, sweet and fun little book. Huck is determined to win back Sarah’s heart and I loved that Sarah listened to him when he finally was ready to explain everything. But if it weren’t for those six years, Huck wouldn’t have his perfect daughter. They were truly in love, they were each other’s “the one!” But outside forces kept them apart and they lost six years. These two just broke my heart at what happened to the two of them. He’ll turn her around, make her love him again, because she’s the only woman he wants. Only the night didn’t end up the way he hoped it would! Sarah is mad but he’ll take that, he can work with that. Huck is dreading it until the winning bid belongs to the only girl he has ever loved. Huck and his brothers are all enrolled in a bachelor auction for charity. And it’s on such a job when she sees something she wasn’t supposed to see, something regarding Huck, and now all Sarah can think about is getting revenge. Once in awhile, though, she fills in on the tow truck when she’s needed. But she doesn’t think he’ll really ever let her do it.
It’s always been Sarah’s dream to take over for her father one day. Sarah had been devastated six years ago when Huck ended their relationship and even more so when he came home with a daughter. He always hoped Sarah would come back to him but she never did. He’s made something of himself, made a good life for he and his beautiful little girl. Now, six years later, Huck is all grown up and is now the sheriff of their little Montana town. But when Sarah was ready to leave for college, Huck broke things off with her.
Huck had been wild in his younger years but Sarah made him feel grounded, made him want to do better. Huck Manning and Sarah O’Banyon fell in love when Sarah was eighteen and Huck was twenty four. You are aware that Huck’s brother is going through something at the same time he is. I did love that the two time lines of both books one and two seem to be happening at the same time. I have not read the first book in the series and was completely fine. This can be read as a complete stand alone. Back in the Saddle is book two in the Bachelor Auction series by Vanessa Vale.
